Thorn and Shield (click to see full collection)
This collar was inspired by the gorget and pauldron pieces on a suit of armor. Gorgets were metal or leather neckpieces that protected a knight's throat while pauldrons protected the shoulders. You won't be protected from swords or axes in this, but it will show off your neck and shoulders to terrific advantage!
The abstracted sun designs refer to ancient Egyption mythology. There are six dots above each of the two smaller sun disks on every plate, representing the twelve stages of the sun god Ra's journey through the Underworld before he is born every morning.
Measures about 15 inches in circumference and 3/4 inch high at the widest points. This is meant to sit snugly at the base of the neck.
