This bracelet was inspired by the gorget and pauldron pieces on a suit of armor. Gorgets were metal or leather neckpieces that protected a knight's throat while pauldrons protected the shoulders.
The abstracted sun designs refer to ancient Egyption mythology. There are six dots above each of the two smaller sun disks, representing the twelve stages of the sun god Ra's journey through the Underworld before he is born every morning. The design was stamped, pierced and soldered on by me and will not be reproduced on another bracelet in the same way, which means that this piece is one of a kind.
